Dr. Maria-Isabel Sanchez-Segura (Main Researcher)
Dr. Maria-Isabel Sanchez-Segura is Full professor at the Computer Science and Engineering Department at Universidad Carlos III de Madrid. Maria-Isabel holds a Ph.D. in Computer Science (2001), an M.S. in Software Engineering (1999) and a B.S. in Computer Science (1997), from the Universidad Politecnica of Madrid. She is Knowledge Manager Certified by the Knowledge Management Institute since 2013. IEEE Senior Member since 2014. Member of the Technical Council on Software Engineering (TCSE). Director of Doctoral and Master Program in Computer Science and Technology at Carlos III University of Madrid from January 2014 to September 2021. She is currently Director of the IRSST-UC3M Chair for an “Intelligent digital transformation of occupational health and safety”, sponsored by the Regional Institute for Occupational Safety and Health (2020-2023).
Dr. Antonio Amescua
Dr. Amescua holds a PhD in Computer Science from Universidad Politecnica de Madrid. He has more than fifteen years of experience in the software engineering realm; he was the Chief of Development of METRICA-V3, the Spain's national standard for information systems development, and also he is one of the pioneers of software process improvement in Spain. Dr. Amescua is the founder of the Software Engineering Lab at Carlos III University of Madrid, and currently he heads this research group.
Dr. Fuensanta Medina-Dominguez
Dr. Medina-Dominguez holds a B.Sc. in Computer Science from the Universidad Carlos III of Madrid, Spain, and a Ph.D. in Computer Science from the same University. She has been working in the field of software engineering since 2000 and has been a faculty member of the Computer Science Department in the Carlos III Technical University of Madrid since 2004, currently as Associate Professor. Her research interests include software engineering and software process improvement focusing on technology transfer in organizations through the use of new trends in computer supported collaborative work technology.

Dr. Germán-Lenin Dugarte-Peña
Dr. Dugarte-Peña Peña holds a BS in Systems Engineering from the University of Los Andes, an MS in Computer Science and Technology and a Ph. D. in Computer Science and Technology from Carlos III University in Madrid. He is an Assistant Professor at the Higher Polytechnic School of the Universidad Francisco de Vitoria. His research interests include software process improvement, value-based software engineering, general software engineering, software process modelling and simulation, decision-making in software engineering context, cognitive modeling, complex systems theory and practice, system dynamics, organizations theory, societal computing, systems thinking and cybernetics.
He has been a guest member of the Latin American School of Systems Thinking and Design since 2010. He is an active member of the System Dynamics Society, and a passionate reviewer for several scientific journals. He was a visitor scholar during Sep-Dec 2017 and May-Sep 2019 at the Dynamic Decision Making Lab (Carnegie Mellon University), in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.
Dr. Javier Busquets is a professor of strategic management of innovation and technology and digital business. He launched and currently serves a director of the Executive Master of Digital Business in cooperation with Santa Clara University at Silicon Valley and the CIO Advanced Program.
He served as Chair of Department of Management of Information Systems (2003-2011) and teaches in the Global Executive MBA in cooperation with Georgetown; Executive MBA and MBA Programs. He served as Key Note Speaker for a number of events. He was a member of the research Project Euro-India and was member of the organization board of the Smart Business Network (SBNi) Conference in Beijing in 2008. He also served as Co-Chair in the International Conference of Mobile Business (ICMB) in 2008. He served as co-Chair for the European Conference of Information Systems (ECIS) to be held Barcelona 2012. Javier Busquets has an extensive professional and executive experience in the Information Technology (IT) and telecommunication industry where he served for 17 years.
Dr. Roberto Cantú
Dr. Javier Gil holds a PhD in Computer Science & Artificial Intelligence (2013) from Universidad Politécnica de Madrid (UPM) and a BSc in Computer Science (1998) from Universidad Autónoma de Madrid (UAM).
Currently, he is an Associate Professor at Department of Information Systems, Universidad Politécnica de Madrid.
His research interests include Algorithmic, Ubiquitous Computing and Web Technologies.
His teaching activities are around “Web development technologies” (BSc in Software Engineering), “Back-end with free distribution technologies” and “Front-end mobile” (Master in Web Development).

Dr. Gustavo Illescas holds a PhD in Industrial & Computational Mathematics (2014) and a System Engineer (1998) from Universidad Nacional del Centro de la Provincia de Buenos Aires (UNCPBA) Tandil, Argentina; is a part time professor at the Computer Science Department of the UNCPBA, and member of the INTIA Research Institute (Instituto de Investigación en Tecnología Informática Avanzada) of the Faculty of Exact Sciences, UNCPBA, since 1999. His research interests include Business Intelligence, Key Performance Indicators, Balance Scorecard, Intelligent Organizations, Knowledge Computing Management, and Management Expert Systems. He has an extensive professional background, working as a software engineer, project manager and software engineering consultant in several private and governmental projects, and as a managing partner of a software company for over 10 years.

Marilei Osinski is a Doctorate Student from the Federal University of Santa Catarina. She is master in Knowledge Engineering and Management and a Business Manager for the same university. She obtained a scholarship from Doctoral Program Sandwich Abroad (PDSE) to do part of her research at the University Carlos III of Madrid. During her master and doctoral studies, she obtained Honor Scholarships from the Coordination for the Improvement of Higher Education Personnel (CAPES). She is a research student at the Knowledge Engineering Laboratory at the Federal University of Santa Catarina, Brazil.

Bs. Juan Manuel Chagüendo Benavides is a Computer Systems Engineer from Universidad Autónoma del Cauca (2016), where he obtained two Bruno Mantilla Pinto Honor Scholarships. He worked in the R&D group in Information Technologies (GTI) of the Universidad del Cauca (2016). He obtained in 2019 a MS in Computer Science and Technology from Carlos III University of Madrid (2017-2018), where he also worked as administrator of servers. He left the group to continue his Ph. D. in Barcelona, Spain. His research interests include Software economics, organizational knowledge management and artificial intelligence.
